Texas Hill Country Fly Fishers Club Supports

GoodFly makes possible workshops to the heroes who serve our communities. We strive to give first responders the tools they need to manage stress and enhance emotional health.
GoodFly conducts free, one-day fly casting workshops for first responders. Our program proposes to make these benefits available through free fly-casting and fly tying instruction. We end the day by bank fishing on a pond, lake or river.
Workshops are typically:
- A Full Day Casting Workshop (8:30 am to 4:00 pm) - at a local facility with an A/C building, space for casting, and a body of water for fishing.
- Coffee, breakfast food, drinks, lunch and all equipment is provided.
- A supportive environment created by instructors engaging with participants.
Each of these activities has a component of practice that can be done on or off the water and still provide stress-relieving benefits. For example, the rhythmic motion of casting mimics mediation and can be done in the yard, in the neighborhood street, or on the water!
Stress-relieving practices learned during the day can be applied to the art of fly fishing or used as a part of a meditative routine that offers continued assistance in renewing the mind and refreshing the spirit.
Participants of all levels of skill and experience will benefit from a Good Fly Fly Fishing Workshop!
